CV Top Tips!

In today’s competitive climate, having a CV that sets you apart from other candidates is vital in every industry.

Writing your first CV can be tricky and there is no single correct way, but with slight changes in style, structure and content you make your CV work harder for you and increase your chances of success.

  • A good CV gives prospective employers a quick, concise summary of your experience, qualifications and suitability for a particular role
  • Always include a one-paragraph profile that sums up your professional and personal attributes
  • Always try to give concrete examples. Don’t just say you have “team work skills”, show how!
  • Your CV should be maximum 2 A4 pages and ideally 1 A4 page.
  • Finally, provide a covering letter / email to give a ‘voice’ to your CV, drawing out key points from it showing a match between you and the role.
